Is it True?

Is it true that "couples that train together, stay together"? I'm not sure about that, but I'm sure it feels great. Working out or just doing something physical with your significant other can most definitely add an interesting spark to your relationship. In the gym, interests can be different. Guys tend to want bigger muscles, while women want to lose all the fat. In this way, many men stick to weight training where the majority of women focus almost solely on cardio. But that doesn't mean you can't come together and benefit from both approaches. In fact I was mostly a cardio girl until I graduated from college. I started weight training more seriously shortly after I graduated. It became a true passion of mine and I quickly realized its importance. After many years training in many different gyms, I was lucky enough to meet my fiancé at the gym when we were squatting in the racks next to each other. Even though I had always weight trained, I saw significant gains in strength and positive changes in my physique after we started training together. He helped me realize how to weight train in a more purposeful way and how to really change and sculpt my body. On the other hand, I have inspired him and motivated him to add a more cardio into his routine which he has noticed the huge benefits of as well. Training with each other in such a complimentary way certainly makes us stronger both apart and together. We push, motivate, encourage and sweat together. To us, it is a physical and spiritual experience, and it makes us better and stronger in the gym and in life. Let's learn from each other and add a new stimulus to help you both see a positive change!

Of course the truth is with our busy schedules coupled with our kids busy schedules, it may be almost impossible to find the time to actually train in the gym together. But really any physical activity will do just fine, if you find the time to do it together. Even something as simple as talking together about your fitness routines, physical activities, or goals can help. The weekend is always a good time to grab your partner and do something physical with each other.

So, I encourage all of you to find the time to grab your significant other and go for it! Even if it's just a weekend walk outside. Do something physical together. IT'S CRUSH TIME!!!
